The Instructor

Nancy Stanford grew up in Clarenville and has taught dance in this area for over 12 years. She began dancing at the age of 10 and has been dancing ever since, beginning her professional training at a private dance college in St. John's in 1993. She has gained Associate teacher status with both The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and The Canadian Dance Teachers Association (CDTA). She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Memorial University.

  Nancy has extensive experience in working with children of all ages.  She has had the great opportunity to travel for six summers to the beautiful Adirondack Mountains of New York, to live and work at a children's summer camp.  Here Nancy was Head of the Dance Program, as well as
being given the opportunity to work as the Program Director - a challenging and rewarding position!  
 
Nancy was also head of the recreation program at Terra Nova Golf Resort for two summers.  Here Nancy was able to organise and run a day camp program for children, as well as meet many new families and enjoy the outdoors!
 
Nancy has also been a guest teacher at Clarenville Integrated High School, teaching the core section of required dance within the physical education faculty.
